The pressures and challenges caused by global deteriorating climate and environment provoke human’s growing recognition of the tremendous building construction and operation impacts on the environment, which has led to the development of a world-wide “green building” movement. Simultaneously, the Information and Internet Age now provide the tools to create intelligent systems for more comfortable, efficient and secure living and working environment.
For this concern, in China which owns the largest population and urbanizes rapidly, the holding of the International Conference on Intelligent Green and Energy Efficient Building & New Technologies and Products Expo can not only enhance exchange and collaboration, but, and most importantly, will introduce the most advanced techniques in the world, promote a resource-saving Chinese construction industry. Simultaneously, unprecedented and unparalleled opportunities will be offered to enterprises home and abroad.
Having been held annually for four sessions from 2005 to 2008, the International Conference on Intelligent Green and Energy Efficient Building & New Technologies and Products Expo, initiated by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, P. R. China, is an international event that also receives great support of home and abroad governments, organizations and associations. On the Conference 2006, Mr. Zeng Peiyan, then Vice Premier of State Council and HRH Prince Andrew Albert Christian Edward of UK delivered keynote speeches. Besides, ministers and officials from around 20 countries joined in the Conference. Their attendance and supports reveal the great importance that domestic and foreign governments attach to green buildings and climate change, with which, we believe, in the situation that Chinese government spares no effort to cope with global financial crisis, boost consumption and increase large investment on energy conservation & emission reduction projects, the fifth Annual Conference will further push the sound development of Chinese intelligent, green and energy-efficient building.
